چکیده

The carbon stock (C Stock) is a key soil attribute, especially in areas under degradation. objective of this study was to map the C Stock and other physical chemical attributes on surface micro-watershed located Gilbués Desertification Nucleus calibrate pedometric functions them, applying spectra obtained by Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS) near-infrared (NIR) region. This developed Piripiri Stream Micro-watershed (PSMW), which presents different levels A total 214 composite samples were collected from 0–0.10 m depth layer. Spectral laboratory analyses performed following traditional methods. results 100 subjected descriptive analysis, modeling, geostatistics, while remainder used exclusively for prediction modeling predicted attribute maps. ranged 0.3 11%, with highest values associated least sandy sites. We assert that stakeholders, including government agencies, could utilize DRS mapping main attributes, such as Stocks, granulometry, or organic carbon, regions characterized similar parent material properties. application can support informed decision-making regarding land management extensive facing threats.

Mid-Infrared and Near-Infrared Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy for Soil Carbon Measurement

Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy offers a nondestructive means for measurement of C in soils based on the The ability to inventory soil C on landscapes is limited by the reflectance spectra of illuminated soil. Both the NIR ability to rapidly measure soil C. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopic (400–2500 nm) and MIR (2500–25 000 nm) region have analysis in the near-infrared (NIR, 400–2500 nm) and ...

Brazilian Cerrado Soil Actinobacteria Ecology

A total of 2152 Actinobacteria strains were isolated from native Cerrado (Brazilian Savannah) soils located in Passos, Luminárias, and Arcos municipalities (Minas Gerais State, Brazil). The soils were characterised for chemical and microbiological analysis. The microbial analysis led to the identification of nine genera (Streptomyces, Arthrobacter, Rhodococcus, Amycolatopsis, Microbacterium, Fr...

Global soil characterization with VNIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

There has been growing interest in the use of diffuse infrared reflectance as a quick, inexpensive tool for soil characterization. In studies reported to date, calibration and validation samples have been collected at either a local or regional scale. For this study, we selected 3768 samples from all 50 U.S. states and two tropical territories and an additional 416 samples from 36 different cou...

Quantitative Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy

In the field of biomedical optics, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) is a frequently used technique for obtaining information about the optical properties of the medium under investigation. The method utilizes spectral difference between incident and backscattered light intensity for quantifying the underlying absorption and scattering processes that affects the light-medium interaction. I...

Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy

The appearance of a soil results from the interaction of its different constituents with incident light. Color and various other attributes of the appearance of soil are highly sensitive to the nature, proportion, particle size and morphology, and spatial association of its mineral and organic components. In fact, color has been used for more than 75 yr to obtain information about these soil pr...
